These Are the Small Changes That Made My Skin Happier After 60

Aging Fearlessly means being unafraid of switching up your skincare routine to see what works best

Nobody tells you that your skin doesn’t just age — it changes personalities!

Things that worked for years suddenly don’t. Your face feels tighter. Makeup sits differently. Redness shows up uninvited. And half the products marketed to “mature skin” feel heavy or complicated. I’m not interested in 12-step routines or chasing youth anymore.

I care about comfort, hydration, and looking like myself on a good day. These are a few small changes I made that actually helped — simple swaps, gentle products, and habits I don’t skip anymore.

I was introduced to disposable towels about a year ago and honestly...they felt kind of life-changing!  I never thought about how much bacteria and germs could build up on your washcloth, and also, it just felt good to have a nice, fresh facecloth each time I cleansed my face!  I've never gone back to cloth washcloths again!

I read everything I could get my hands on about the best products for mature skin.  Cleansers, face creams, and tinted moisturizers to name a couple.  I've been known to change up my regular routine in the name of research as well (you're welcome!).  A recent find that I am really enjoying is the tinted moisturizer that I use.  This one goes on light and creamy and doesn't settle into fine lines and wrinkles.  Win!

Nothing can ruin a carefully applied eyeliner faster than tears.  I know, because I have clinical dry eye and my eyes tear up quite often, and do just that (ruin my eye makeup).  I keep a bottle of dry eye drops on me, but recently read about supplements that you take orally that can actually combat clinical dry eye -- from the inside!  I've been taking them for just over a month and can honestly say that I've noticed a decrease in the amount of tearing that I experience.  I'll keep you posted, but so far these are amazing!
